Opposition leaders told the BBC that the government's proposed draft had neither listened to the opposition nor respected court rulings.

Syed Naveed Qamar, a senior leader of the Pakistan People's Party and a member of the National Assembly, told the BBC that the government's draft amendment included more controversial provisions than last year's presidential ordinance.

Syed Naveed Qamar said that after reviewing the government's draft, the opposition had prepared a comprehensive bill to amend the NAB rules which has also been shared with the government.

He hoped that the government would come to the Parliamentary Committee meeting at Parliament House on Monday at 5 pm with an open mind and pave the way for legislation for an institution like NAB in the light of the suggestions of the opposition. Will

According to a senior opposition leader, the government is considering extending the tenure of the NAB chairman, who was quoted by the Supreme Court as saying that he was doing political engineering, which would be a contempt of court. Will

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal said that the government's draft PTI is an NRO for its people. The government is trying to protect its ministers and advisers from corruption cases like Malam Jabba.

According to him, the government's draft is unacceptable to the opposition.

Talking about the opposition's draft, Ahsan Iqbal said that suggestions were also sought from the government during the preparation of the draft and asked the government to harmonize the NAB with the constitution, law and judicial decisions.
