President Trump: Postpone US election 2020, fear of 'fraud'

President Trump has called for the November presidential election to be postponed. He said that over-voting by post could lead to fraud and erroneous results.

He suggested that the election be postponed until people could vote in a "proper and safe" way.

There is no evidence to support President Trump's claim, but he has long spoken out against voting by mail. They say it could lead to fraud.

U.S. states want postal voting to be easier because of health concerns over the Corona virus epidemic.

In a tweet, President Trump wrote: "Universal Mail in Voting will make the November 2020 vote the most wrong and fraudulent election in history and it will be a great embarrassment for the United States."

With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can vote properly, securely and safely ???

"Democrats talk about foreign influence in voting, but they know that mail-in voting is an easy way for foreigners to enter the race," he said.

He said postal voting was already proving to be a catastrophe for areas where it had been tested.

Earlier this month, six US states planned to hold November elections by post.

These states will send ballot papers to all their voters by post, which will either be returned by post or returned to the designated locations on election day. Although there is some 'in-person' or self-voting facility, it is limited.

About half of US states allow voters to vote on a request by mail.

In June, New York allowed postal voting in the Democratic Party's primary candidate's primary poll. But the counting of ballot papers was delayed and the results are not yet known.

According to US media reports, there is a concern that many of the ballots will not be counted because they have not been filled in properly or will not have the mark on them to indicate that it is an official voting. Sent before closing.

Reacting to President Trump's proposal, New Mexico Democratic Senator Tom Adel said Trump could not delay the election in any way.

He said that the fact that he was proposing this was a very serious and brutal attack on the very democratic process. He said that all members of Congress and the administration should speak openly about it.
