Karachi plane crash: Commissioner Lahore Division focal person posted

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has appointed Commissioner Lahore Division as focal person to guide the families of the passengers killed and injured in the Karachi plane crash.

According to a statement issued from the Chief Minister's House, Usman Bazdar expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said that the Punjab government stood by the bereaved families in this hour of grief.

The Chief Minister has prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

The Commissioner Lahore Division will liaise closely with the airport administration and civil aviation authorities. The Commissioner Lahore Division will provide necessary information to the families of the passengers about the accident and the families concerned will be guided in this regard.

I can confirm the survival of two passengers on board the plane: Sindh government spokesman


Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab said he could confirm the survival of the two passengers on board the crashed plane.

He said that both the passengers were miraculously safe and injured but their condition was out of danger.

He identified the two as Muhammad Zubair and Zafar Masood.

Army Urban Search and Rescue Team leaves Rawalpindi for Karachi: ISPR


According to the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR), the Army Urban Search and Rescue Team has left Rawalpindi for Karachi with special equipment and rescue experts to intensify relief efforts.

According to ISPR, 10 fire tenders have brought the fire under control. Military ambulances are busy rescuing the wounded and providing medical assistance.

Those whose houses have been destroyed will be accommodated in a PIA hotel.

Sindh Governor Arman Ismail said in a Twitter message that residents of Jinnah Colony whose homes were affected or destroyed in the plane crash would be accommodated in national airline hotels.

The governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the PIA to provide immediate assistance to the victims.
Pakistan Peoples Party senior leader and provincial education minister Senator Saeed Ghani shared a photo of himself with a passenger who survived the Karachi plane crash.

Sharing a photo of himself with a minor injured in the hospital on the social networking site Twitter, Saeed Ghani claimed that the man named Muhammad Zubair was lucky to have survived the accident.

Talking to private television channel Geo, Ghani said that Muhammad Zubair was coming from Sialkot to Karachi to celebrate Eid and was on an ill-fated plane.

He said that according to the doctors, 30 percent of Muhammad Zubair's body was burnt but he was conscious.

He further said that a hotline would be set up in the Karachi Commissioner's Office soon on which the family members could contact and find out the details.

He said some of the bodies were unidentified and DNA testing had begun.

Confirmation of death of 30 people in the accident

So far, the bodies of 17 people who died in a plane crash in Karachi have been brought to Jinnah Hospital in Karachi and 13 to Civil Hospital, said Marin Yousaf, a spokesman for the Sindh Health Department.

According to the spokesman, only three of the dead have been identified so far.

Sami Jamali, director of Jinnah Hospital in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, told the BBC that so far the bodies of 17 people killed in the plane crash have been brought to the hospital.

According to Sami Jamali, no passenger who miraculously survived the accident has been brought to Jinnah Hospital.

On the other hand, four residents of the area where the plane crashed have been rushed to Jinnah Hospital in critical condition.
