Why are South Asian patients admitted to UK hospitals at higher risk of death?

According to a study conducted in the UK, South Asians are more likely to die from the corona virus after being admitted to UK hospitals.

This is the only ethnic group whose risk of death increases after hospitalization and one of the reasons for this is the high level of diabetes in their blood.

This research is very important because it has data from four of the 10 hospitals where COD 19 patients are being treated. Researchers say changes in policies to protect people in the workplace and to decide who will receive the vaccine may be needed.

The study involved 27 public health institutions in the UK, including universities and 260 hospitals.

The study only looked at what happens when someone is hospitalized, but did not say how much South Asians are at risk of contracting the virus.
