What will Chinese cinemas look like after reopening?

From Monday, cinemas in China will be open to the public, but the scene will change dramatically.

Authorities have been instructed by the China Film Administration to open cinemas only in areas where the risk of an epidemic is low. This means that almost everywhere except the capital Beijing.

Cinemas will be able to fill only 30% of the total capacity, while moviegoers will be asked to leave a seat, their temperature will be checked and a distance of one meter will be maintained. No distinction will be made between family members and those on a date.

No food or drink will be allowed in the cinema and those going to the cinema have been instructed to wear masks at all times. Everyone has to buy tickets online.

Also, they will not be able to watch a long movie. According to the government agency, no film can last more than two hours and there will be long breaks during the film to follow the principles of cleanliness and hygiene.

This means that many films will be shot at the last minute, which is nothing new in China.
